Well everyone it is getting to be that time again. We will start putting our decorations next week. We use to wait till veterans day, but the last few years we couldn't hold out and started before.

Well one of the subjects I wanted to cover first was wrapping your cord connections with electrical tape. This greatly helps reduce the amount of circuit flips from when it rains. What we do is after we get the cords hooked up to where we want them we take a few rolls of electrical tape and wrap it around both ends of the outlet. So that there is a continuous seal around the plugs. the reason for doing this is because whenever the wires get wet they get hot and pull more amperage. Causing more tripped circuit breakers our blown fuses. Also for an added protection from the weather we have found a small box with a hole cut in it  or a custom made wood box wrapped with wrapping paper or painted with some ribbon or a big bow put on top hides the connections quite well. While adding more depth to your Christmas Display.

If You have any questions on this topic feel free to write us at around.the.home.and.garden@gmail.com and we will be glad to help. Also we will post some pictures of how we wrap the cords and the boxes we have made to protect them as well once we get started decorating for the season. To help give you an idea.
